Aeonimum arboretum 'Atropurpureum' - Succulent and Cacti
Aeonium arboretum are evergreen succulents often of shrubby habit, with fleshy leaves in terminal rosettes on the shoots, and racemes or panicles of small, star-shaped flowers with numerous narrow petal.
Species 'Atropurpureum' is a lax evergreen sub-shrub to 1.5m, with deep red-purple leaves and conical panicles of small yellow flowers in late spring. Aeoniums do not like really hot or dry weather. They may go dormant in summer and do not require any water, except in very dry conditions. In extreme heat, their leaves will curl, to prevent excessive water loss.
